Our
Choral Compositions are divided into
these 2 categories:
Arrangements
When you place an order, you will receive computer-generated
copies of the work on 8 & 1/2” x 11” 24 pound bond paper. The
copies will be in the form of a center-stapled booklet. Some
of the markings will be handwritten. They will normally be
shipped using Media Mail (USPS).
Shipping and Handling charges will be applied as follows:
1 to 9 items $3.00 Total Shipping
10 items and up $5.00 Total Shipping
A
Sampler Packet of my works will soon be available for purchase
at a cost of $8.00. The Sampler Packet will contain one page
(probably the first) of each of my choral works listed on this
web site.
Since printing costs, like everything else, have skyrocketed,
some of my works are now costing me more to produce than I could
reasonably sell them for, so I am making you this offer: For
$25.00 I will send you a single copy of any one of my choral
works along with a signed statement allowing you to photocopy as
many as you need for your choir -- but your choir only,
please.
Of course, you may still purchase multiple copies. The price for
each copy of most of my works will be $2.25. Several of my
longer pieces and my medleys, however, will be priced
individually according to several factors, one of which is their
length. The special price will be noted in the left
column.
'Single Copy' does
not include Photocopy Permission.
'Photocopy Permission' includes
Photocopy Permission to reproduce needed # for your Choir.

For If I
Die (1995)
SSAATTBB a
cappella DIFF
Thoughtful and serious, this is
the last poem that Doug sent me after we both left St.
Louis in 1969. He had an idea for our “next” musical,
and this was the first poem he created for it. Many
years later, I set it for the Ole Miss Concert Singers.

|
|
1945 (1995)
$5.00 SSAATTBB a
cappella VERY DIFF
Based on a poem by my father, this
piece calls for two choirs with some divisi in both. I
envisage a large number of voices, perhaps several hundred.
To perform this would be a huge undertaking, and the text is
in German. It is easily the most dissonant piece I have
written.
|
|
|
With Trumpet And Drum
(1987)
SATB a cappella
DIFF
The text is another wonderful poem
by Eugene Field. The middle section is rhythmically
difficult.

Written for my high school male glee club in St. Louis,
I recently redid it, doubling the voice parts at the
octave for the ladies.

SATB with
piano MED
This fun-filled six-minute
medley includes “Razz-A-Ma-Tazz,” “Alexander's Ragtime
Band,” “Ballin' The Jack,” “Up A Lazy River,” and
“Varsity Drag.” I have included chord changes in case
you want to use a rhythm section. I received the
following comments about the arrangement from the Johnny
Mann Singers: “...both personally and on behalf of
Johnny Mann, I wanted you to know how much we all
enjoyed your work. It’s creative, amusing, and as
imaginative as anything we’ve heard lately” (signed Rod
Warren for Johnny Mann). This medley should be
accessible to many school and community choirs.
|
|
|
Star-Spangled Banner
(2007)
SATB with piano MED
This is a straightforward,
respectful arrangement of our national anthem.
|
|
|
Twas In The Moon Of
Wintertime (1993)
SATB a cappella DIFF
Quintal intervals are the "rule" in
my arrangement of this Christmas song. Often, tertian
harmonies are created by two simultaneous quintal intervals.
|
|
|
Two For The Show (2007) SATB with piano MED
This arrangement focuses on famous
duets from the Movies and Broadway. Included are, “You’re

two other songs. This is a real crowd pleaser for older
audiences.

found throughout the arrangement.
